Nancy Zimpher Courage in Leadership Award


The Nancy Zimpher Courage in Leadership Award is presented annually to a Cradle to Career Network member organization that demonstrates leadership in the face of adversity and a commitment to failing forward in service of results. 

This award is named for the founding board chair of StriveTogether, Nancy Zimpher, who is known for challenging the status quo, taking risks to improve the lives of children and families, and advocating for the inclusion of diverse perspectives. StriveTogether presents this award to an organization in the Cradle to Career Network that exemplifies courageous, audacious and unrelenting leadership in its community.

Nomination criteria:

The Nancy Zimpher Courage in Leadership Award recognizes an organization in the Cradle to Career Network that: 

·        Takes risks and fails forward on behalf of a vision to improve the lives of kids and families.

·        Creates a culture of accountability and challenges the status quo. 

·        Advocates for the inclusion of diverse perspectives. 

Submitting a nomination: 

Your nomination should include specific examples of how the organization demonstrates each of the above criteria. Your nomination must be 500 words or less. You may nominate your own organization.

The winning organization will receive a $1,000 stipend to support learning and development and will be recognized during a special presentation at the 2023 Cradle to Career Network Convening, September 19-21 in San Francisco.
